In line with the construction of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (blue line), the state government yesterday announced traffic diversion along the National Theatre/Marina axis.
The exercise, which began on Monday, will last for about 221 days (seven months and one week).
The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, who disclosed this in a statement yesterday, however assured motorists and other road users of a robust Traffic Management Plan to ensure safety of motorists and construction personnel during the course of the construction.
Oladeinde said the TMP will address the impact of the construction work on traffic and eliminate traffic congestion.
The commissioner said the construction will commence on the right hand side of the road for a duration of 116 days, while the left hand side will take 182 days.
