“Study hard in order to perform excellently as this will encourage this administration to sponsor more candidates next year”.
This piece of advice was given by the Executive Chairman of Oto Awori LCDA, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa, during the official presentation of free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms.
The event took place at the council secretariat in Ijanikin where about 100 forms were given to less-privileged and indigent candidates.
The council boss who was represented by the Vice Chairman and Supervisor of Education, Hon. Abdulkareem Azeez, said since the inception of this tenure, indigenes have been provided with free UTME and GCE forms in order to aid their advancement in tertiary institutions.
The Vice Chairman stated the scorecards like provision of exercise books, text books, mathematical sets to all pupils and students of the LCDA, the completion of St. Peters Anglican Nursery and Primary School in Isagira.
Furthermore, the construction of a block of six classrooms in Ilogbo Elegba School 2, construction of six classrooms with teachers’ offices and toilets at Ajewamiwa Nursery and Primary School which has just been completed.
In addition, Hon. Abdulkareem talked about the construction of a block of six classrooms at Ilemba Awori Nursery and Primary School which is ongoing.
He added that the pupils and students are always supported in the Spelling Bee Competition and Children’s Day.
The Vice Chairman said: “We have also organized seminars on cultism, drug abuse, sexual violence and political thuggery for them to be responsible adults.”
Aside all these, we shall commence the payment of bursaries to our indigent students soonest, he added.
