The Lagos State government says it has concluded arrangements to airlift intending pilgrims to Israel for the Easter edition of its bi-annual pilgrimage.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs Mrs. Toyin Awoseyi, who spoke yesterday at the service of dedication for intending pilgrims at Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, said the service was the last in the series of activities that must be held before the airlifting of intending pilgrims.
Mrs. Awoseyi advised the over 200 intending pilgrims to see the journey as a spiritual retreat, be steadfast in faith and uphold their spiritual beliefs.
She assured them of the government’s unwavering welfare packages, stressing that the way and manner which the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board conducts its activities endeared the board to the public thereby making the state the number one self-sponsored pilgrimage across the country.
The Board Secretary, Mrs. Yetunde Gbafe, said the government has put necessary machinery in place to arrest those who may use the opportunity to abscond.
She, however, prayed that the journey would be a fruitful one that will bring expectations of participants to pass.
Presiding Chaplain Rev. Ayo Oyadokun counselled the intending pilgrims to know God genuinely.

Speaking on the theme: “That I may know Him”, from Hosea 6:3, Oyadokun admonished the congregation to crave for personal encounter with God, saying such encounter would surely transform their lives for better.
He admonised them to know the levels of knowing God so that they will not just be ‘church-goers’ but be partakers of the blessings of the holy land thereafter.
