Lagos trains 300 driving instructors

LAGOS State government has trained over 300 driving school instructors in order to  enhance their operations and help scale down traffic infractions.

The drivers were trained during a seminar organised by the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI).

Declaring the seminar open, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mr Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu said training, retraining and recertification of drivers is germane towards ensuring a road safety culture in Lagos state and elsewhere.

“The seminar is designed to equip you all as the first line drivers’ instructors with necessary skills that will have cross effects on safe driving in the state; you are saddled with the responsibility of building confidence that will match the driving challenges of the state”.

He told them that they are expected to teach road designs and automobile apparatus in their schools and that the seminar is organised to review the curriculum/templates they use in their various driving schools with the aim of adopting a uniform template towards Y2019/2020 training year.
