A landlord, Mr Adebayo Mumuni Shittu, has cried out over the demolition of his two buildings in Victory Park Estate, Ibeju-Lekki, by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

He alleged that the AMCON’s action on July 28, 2021 violated a Court of Appeal judgement of December 15, 2020, in Lagos.

According to him, the judgment forbade AMCON from taking any action on the said properties in Victory Park Estate, in Ibeju-Lekki, Victoria Island.

The judgment was sequel to an appeal challenging the ruling of the High Court of Lagos, by Justice K.A. Jose delivered on October 24, 2019.

The Nation reports that AMCON has consistently denied claims that it is violating any court order at Victory Park Estate. Rather it has maintained that its actions are lawful and in accordance with judgments it secured on behalf of the Federal Government.
