The council boss made this known during the 16th graduation and matriculation ceremony of the MDGS Skill Acquisition Training Centre held at the council secretariat during the week.

The lucky graduands are Gbetoyon Anuoluwa of Fashion Designing Department, Friday Abosede Gift of Hairdressing Department; Ojo Damilola of Catering Department, Nofisat Oladosu of Computer Department and Abdulraheem Mariam of Bag Department.

Onilude said their appointments became necessary in order to reduce unemployment in the local government area and reward excellence and dedication to studies in the training centre.

He noted that around this period last year, about 100 students graduated from the vocational training centre.

He said: “The regularity of the event and the large number of students show the level of commitment we have given to the running of our vocational training centre. Prior to now, only one of our vocational training centres has been functioning optimally, but now, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Vocational Training Centre at Ajara Dokoh has been fully rehabilitated and shall soon resume full operation ”

He urged the graduands to fine-tune their skills and give the best service delivery to their clients in order to be successful in their chosen careers.
