A graduate of Linguistics Studies- turned- food vendor, Lidia Thelema Soberekon, has emerged winner of the monthly Princewill Trust help the hard worker competition put together by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, Prince Tonye Princewill.
Soberekon, who is the first woman to win the price, emerged winner after a keenly contested competition, beating about 300 others to N100,000 cash prize.
The “Help the Hard worker” monthly competition is organised by a non-governmental organisation, Princewill’s Trust for entrepreneurs, youths and Rivers residents engaged in micro business ventures and all forms of hard work in Rivers State.
A statement from the Princewill Trust quotes Bar. Ken Sarowiyo, who presented the cash award on behalf of the sponsor as saying the aim of the Trust was to contribute to the economic development of Rivers State.
He called on the winner to make judicious use of the money in upgrading her business.

He was it was very apt that a woman had finally won the competition and done so courtesy of a Mama Put business at a time when the words Mama Put has been formally recognised by the Oxford English Dictionary and Google.
He said that Princewills Trust has a special place for the voiceless and encouraged more women, more youths and the disabled to enter the contest.
The statement also quoted the winner as saying she was in need of funds to upgrade her business, adding that it has always been her dream and desire to own a restaurant for native Rivers foods and delicacies as a business.
She called on youths in the state to be creative and engage in productive activities and not to wait for white collar jobs which are not as available anymore.
