Lawan assures that NASS will conclude work on Budget before end of October

Senate President, Senator Ahmed has assured that committees of both chambers of the National Assembly will conclude work on the 2020 budget estimate before the end of October.
Senator Lawan, therefore, directed all Ministers and Heads of MDAs to appear before National Assembly committees to defend their budget promptly before the end of the month.
He said the lawmakers will bring to bear the same commitment with which it passed the Medium Term Expenditure Framework which is a prelude to the budget

President Muhammadu Buhari arrives the green chambers of the National Assembly where the joint session of holding to receive the 2020 appropriation bill to chants of Baba oyoyo, Baba oyoyo.
He was accompanied by Cabinet Minister and other political appointees.
The chamber of the House of Representatives is being used by the lawmakers to receive the budget as it is bigger than that of the Senate.

Tight security at NASS
Security operatives have taken over the National Assembly in preparation for the presentation of the 2020 appropriation bill by President Muhammadu Buhari to a joint seating of the legislature.
As early as 6.00am, security operatives took over all entrance to the National Assembly, turning back all those without a pass.
Workers in and around the National Assembly as well as Journalists without the tag were turned back at the first gate to the Assembly.
