A suspected mentally deranged man has stabbed a young lady with a kitchen knife at the Oba Ovoranmen Square popularly known as Ring Road.
Sources said the injured girl was walking along when the suspected insane man stabbed her.
The source said passersby descended on the insane man and beat him to stupor after collecting the knife from him.
The eye witness said: “The girl who is now in a very critical condition has been rushed to the hospital.
“They collected the knife and beat him to stupor.”
The injured girl was said to have been rushed to the Benin Central hospital.
Edo Police spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, could not.be reached for comments.
