Man, 65, dies during sex in hotel

A 65-year-old man has died in a hotel in Awka, Anambra State, while having sex with a 34-year-old woman.

The deceased, Obi Nwoda, was said to have lodged in the hotel with the woman, Ifeoma Ayinka, for two days before the incident.

The Nation learnt that the hotel management suspected foul play when the suspect was seen leaving the hotel without the man on Saturday evening.

An employee of the hotel, who pleaded anonymity, said the woman was accosted by the management.

“We insisted that she must be taken back to the room, where the man was seen lying unconscious on the bed.”

Police spokesman Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident to reporters yesterday in Awka.

He said the body had been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Mohammed said: “On November 10 about 8:15pm, there was a report by the management of Desires and Leisure Hotel, Agu Awka at ‘B’ Division that on the same date about 5pm the incident happened.

“That Ifeoma Ayinka, female, aged 34, of Agu Ukwu in Aniocha Local Government, who came to lodge in the hotel with Obi Nwoda, male, aged 65, of the same address, was leaving the hotel premises without the man.

“When confronted and taken back to the hotel room, it was discovered that the man was lying on the bed unconscious.

“Upon receipt of the complaint, the scene was visited by police patrol team attached to ‘B’ division, led by the DPO, CSP Odion Ekeinde and the victim was taken to Apex Hospital, Awka where he was confirmed dead on arrival by the doctor.”

He said the woman, who alleged that the victim collapsed while making love to her had been arrested.

“The case is under investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Mohammed said.
