Man electrocuted in Delta

An unidentified 35-year-old man has been electrocuted while attempting to disconnect Christmas decorations along the popular Nnebisi road in Asaba-the Delta State Capital.

The Nation gathered that the victim popularly called Jaja was engaged by a contractor of the Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency to dismantle the decorations when he was electrocuted.

An eyewitness said the victim was disconnecting the decorations when a live wire connected to the street lights fell on the metal ladder he was standing on.

He said, “Jaja climbed the pole with a metal ladder to disconnect the street lights. One of the wires suddenly dropped resting on the ladder he was standing on and was immediately electrocuted.”

Delta Police image-maker, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
