Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari yesterday urged traditional rulers, local government chairmen and security agencies to ensure the protection and safety of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to serve in their areas.
The governor gave the directive during the closing ceremony of the Batch “B”, Stream I corps members deployed in the state.
He said the directive became necessary in view of the prevailing security situation in the country.

Masari said: “My administration has carefully put in place comprehensive security machinery aimed at ensuring maximum security in the state. For the avoidance of doubt, all traditional rulers, district heads, local government chairmen and security agencies have been given specific instructions on how to secure the lives and property of everyone in the state. Therefore, you should feel safe in Katsina State.”
The governor, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, Alhaji Hussaini Abdullahi Dangani, described the colourful closing ceremony as indicative of the collective efforts of the camp officials under the NYSC State Coordinator.
