To mitigate effects of the lockdown, the Association of Global Medical Organisation of Nigeria has given out relief items to residents of Surulere, Lagos State.
It gave out packs of flour, bread, milk, cocoa beverage, sugar, and margarine, among other items.
The aged, middle-aged and younger residents benefitted. The group is a subsidiary of Global Medical Organisation based in the United States.
Speaking through their Coordinating Ambassador in Surulere, Kunle Bello, president of the organisation Dr. Olatunji Almaroof said the outreach always give back to the society.

Over 100 persons received N2000 to N15000 in person or through their bank accounts, Almaroof said. Residents of Oshodi-Isolo, Alimosho, Surulere, Somolu and Lagos Island, Lagos, had benefitted from the organisation’s outreach, as have those of Ibadan, Oyo State, and Osogbo in Osun State.
Praising the state for its “swift action” on curbing COVID-19, Almaroof said the state could achieve more by delivering its cash stimulus to residents through their details with Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) or voter cards.
The medical group plans council-to-council outreach to help more people cope with the harsh realities of the lockdown.
