AS Methodist Girls High School, Yaba-Lagos, celebrates her 140th anniversary, plans are underway by the old students association of the school to raise funds for building project which will hold on the 27th of October, among other things.
This was disclosed by the president of Methodist Girls High School Old Students Association (MGHSOGA), Mrs. Yomi Afolabi, at a press briefing in Lagos.
According to Afolabi, MGHSOGA will also collaborate with Thespian Family Theatre to present “Itan” (The Story) on Sunday 20th October at National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
“The Story will be acted by students of the Methodist Girls High School,” she said.
Other week-long activities outlined for the 140th celebration include:
Holy communion Service on Monday 21st October, closely followed by the Price-Giving/Lecture and launching of Anniversary Magazine on Tuesday 22nd; the Students Activities/Cultural Day on Wednesday; Inter-House Sports Competition on Thursday.
Other programmes lined up for the commemoration include:
Inauguration of School’s Projects on Friday; Novelty Match on Saturday and lastly the Anniversary Thanksgiving/Fund raising Luncheon on 27th October.
