Moghalu mourns APC chieftain

The Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Dr. George Moghalu, has commiserated with the family of the late Mr. Cosmas Eze, the former assistant secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Idemili South Local Government of Anambra State.

The deceased, who was also the coordinator of George Moghalu Campaign Organisation in the area, was shot dead last month by gunmen on his way to a function at Oba in Idemili South Local Government.

Speaking during a condolence visit to the deceased’s family at his home in Oba, Moghalu hailed the late Eze for being on the side of truth and unity at all times, describing him as a true party man with integrity.

He expressed sadness about the untimely death, assuring the family of his support during the burial.

He also promised to take care of his son’s education.

Moghalu said: “I am here today to get the details of what happened. Listening to you, I am heartbroken. I can feel your pains and appreciate your anger. I assure the family that I will always be available to them to render my support in any way it may be needed.

“The only crime Cosmas committed was that he drove a branded vehicle. I pray God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss. I urge the family to be strong and united as always.”

The deceased’s wife, Mrs. Amaka Eze, thanked Moghalu for condoling with the family during their trying period, despite his tight schedule. She prayed God to guide and protect him.

The NIWA boss was accompanied by Rev Uche Ibeabuchi, the Federal Character Commissioner for Anambra State, Hon Alaoma and others..
