Ekiti

Ekiti Baptist Conference of Nigerian Baptist Convention  has given an Icon of Faith Award to the Atayero of Aramoko Ekiti, Dr. Olusegun Aderemi.

President of Ekiti Baptist Conference Dr. Adeyinka Aribisoye said the award was in recognition of the monarch’s services and support to the church.

He hoped the recognition would propel the Atayero to do more for Christ.

Dr Aribasoye who is also Ekiti  CAN chairman decried insecurity in Nigeria.

He urged Christians to watch and pray, saying Christians should not just fold their arms and allow criminals conkill them.

The Atayero hailed the honour, saying it was unique considering that it came from the church and his people.

He promised to donate a new vehicle to the church.

On the nation’s poor economy, Dr. Aderemi said the challenges facing the country were man made because the leaders were more concerned about their ambitions and political gains.

He congratulated Ekiti governor-elect Biodun Oyebanji on his election, urging him to to sustain the economic growth of the state.
