The Naija Star Search talent hunt and reality TV show is scheduled to start airing on StarTimes on Sunday, September 4, 2022 on STNollywoodplus channel.
The project, a collaboration between Kennis Music and StarTimes Nigeria, is expected to groom and nurture the next big Afrobeats talents under the watchful eyes of renowned music experts that include Kenny Keke Ogungbe, ID Cabasa, and Asha Gangali.
The show is to be hosted by VJ Adams.
The Chief Executive Officer of StarTimes Nigeria, Tunde Aina, disclosed this at a media launch on Monday, August 29, 2022.
Aina noted that the project was necessitated out of the pay-tv company’s desire to contribute to the growth of the Nigerian entertainment sector.
On his part, Ogungbe explained how a chance meeting with StarTimes CEO, Alex Jiang, berthed the journey to breeding the next generation of Afrobeats stars.
ID Cabasa, the famous music producer, who is also sitting as a judge on the show, noted that he will be looking out for raw talents that can be groomed and nurtured to grow and take the baton from where the current Afrobeats stars would be dropping it globally.
Asha Gangali expressed excitement over the reality show saying it is necessary to keep the world on its feet with Afrobeats by grooming new sets of Nigerian stars to take over when the current stars are older.
