Coalition of youth groups in Nasarawa State, the Nigeria Youth Congress (NYC) has called on the state government and the organised labour to return to the negotiation table towards putting an end to the ongoing indefinite strike for the good of the masses.
The President of the group, Mr Kefas Tigga made the call after the group’s emergency meeting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Mr Kefas Tigga stated that the lingering strike had taken a negative toll on the lives of the citizens, especially the shutting down of health care centres and other critical sectors of the economy; hence the need for both parties to shift grounds for amicable resolution of the impasse.

The National Vice-President, North Central of the NYC, Comrade Stephen Abraham Narai pleaded with the striking workers to think of a more amicable way of resolving the issue.
“We are all aware of the issues between the state government and labour which have been there for 13 years; we plead with our hardworking state civil servants to please afford the government some time, considering the state of the country.”
