In line with its commitment to keep interceding for the nation, Nigeria Prays, the non-denominational prayer group established by former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, has concluded plans to hold a one-day prayer retreat in Lagos.
The last time such retreat was held in Lagos was about two years ago.
But the Nigeria Prays group normally holds prayer rally every month moving from one state of the country to the other.
The group has also had to travel out of the country to hold such rally.
But the Lagos rally is organised by the Lagos Chapter of the group and conceived to bring together believers from across the state so they could cry unto God for Nigeria.

A statement by the Lagos state chapter Chairman of Nigeria Prays, Pastor Toyin Kehinde and his vice, Pastor Afolabi Raphael, explained the summit will hold at the Good Shepherd Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) 232/234 Herbert Macaulay Way, Alagomeji, Sabo Lagos on October 27 by 2p.m.
The theme of the prayer summit according to the statement is: “Oh, Lord Arise heal our Land.”
“It is mainly an intercessory session. It is true that we have been praying. But prayers can never be too much. While we keep calling on God, we keep appealing to our people to work hard and live lives that will bring glory to God.
“Our situation is not irredeemable. If people say we pray they don’t get results, what if we have not prayed at all? But the fact is that it is the prayer of the saints that have been keeping Nigeria as a country,” the statement added.
