Nigerian man mounts mast with football on his head, breaks Guinness record

Nigerian man Tonye Solomon has set a new Guinness World Record for the most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on his head.

Solomon, accomplished the dazzling feat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state last month, by climbing 150 steps to the top of a 250-foot (76-meter) tall radio mast while expertly keeping control of the ball atop his head, has been certified by the Guinness World Records.

A statement released to this effect on the official GWR website read: “The most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football (soccer ball) on the head is 150, and was achieved by Tonye Solomon (Nigeria), in Yenagoa, Nigeria, on August 10.

“Tonye attempted this record to challenge himself and to inspire others to do great things. He spent 2 months training for the attempt until he was confident he could achieve the record.”

GWR on Wednesday, September 13, also shared a clip from the attempt on their website, celebrating the new record holder.
