Nine travellers died yesterday in a road crash in Duma community in Edati council of Niger State.
It was learnt that the accident involved two trucks, a commercial bus and a car.
One of the trucks was loaded with planks while the other had other goods.
The commercial bus had on board traders going to a weekly market in Kudu village, it was said.
The Nation learnt that the speeding bus ran into one of the trucks before the second truck and the car sped into them.
The accident occurred about 10am.

The first crash caused an explosion and a huge fire into which the other two vehicles ran.
Seven of the nine persons that died were said to have died in the fire, their vehicle completely burnt.
The injured were reportedly taken to the General Hospital, Kutigi.
Fire fighters and officials of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were on the scene to put out the fire and help the victims.
Last week, six persons were killed and 13 injured in a ghastly bus crash on Bida-Kutigi Road.
