NIS disinfects facilities nationwide

The Nigeria Immmigration Services (NIS) has taken advantage of the restriction of movement to disinfects its operational windows nationwide.

According to the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, the disinfection of the service passport and migrant E-registration centres is part of measures to curtailing further spread of the novel COVID-19.

While appreciating Nigerians for their concern and prayers in this time, the service boss in the statement assures Nigerians that all passport and other service delivery units are doing their best to clear the backlog of applications submitted for passports and other NIS facilities before the lock down to enable a smooth resumption at the end of the lockdown given by government.

He also noted that State Comptrollers around the borders are busy monitoring the field officers for compliance and enforcement in line with government directive ensuring peaceful, safe and Secured operation that guarantees harmonious habitation and living between the NIS Operatives and Border Communities within this period.
Babndede also used the opportunity  to appreciates the conducts of the officers and men of the service in maintaining civility, peaceful co-existence while keeping the border safe at all the entry and exit points which has drastically reduced human mobility from increasing the spread of the Covid-19.
He enjoins the Operatives to stay safe, as well as adhering to standard best medical advises always.
The Comptroller General advised the general public to shun fraudsters during this period who are bent at defrauding innocent Nigerians of their money by creating fake portals for NIS facilities and services, adding that all enquiries and complaints to be directed to the following helplines:07080607900,08119753844,08147199908.
