NITDA trains 180 artisans in digital economy

THE National Information Technological Development Agency (NITDA), an agency of  the Federal Government under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, has trained another set of 180 artisans in Oyo State In Digital Economy.

The 10-day  training   tagged: ‘Capacity development programme to promote digital economy’ ,was facilitated by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, the lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District

The event, held yesterday at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, was coordinated by Microban Standard Communications Ltd , who ensured adequate training materials were provided and strict compliance to COVID-19 guidelines.

Participants,who were drawn from 33 local government areas in the state, were trained on how to repair telephones and taken through  the  rudiment of the business.

Majority of them hailed the Federal Government for availing them the opportunities of adding up to their skills.

The Director General of NITDA,  Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdulahi, who was represented by Olayinka Femi, a top official in the agency, urged the participants to make judicious  use of the opportunities provided by the training.

Senator Buhari said he facilitated the training to enhance  knowledge and skills acquisition by  the  artisans in Oyo North Senatorial District.

Buhari,  a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Oyo State,  who is also the chairman Senate Committee on Land  Transport, said: “This is the third time a training like this will be organised since 2019 and I am happy and satisfied with the feedback I am getting from the first and second training sessions. About 50 per cent of the participants are using the skills acquired as a means of livelihood”.
