A monarch, the Olu of Agboyi in Lagos State, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, has said his reign will usher in development.
He hailed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving the Agboyi Link Bridge.
The monarch received his certificate and instrument of office from the government about two weeks ago.
He urged rival ruling houses to join him in developing the kingdom, as there can be no progress without unity.
Oladega, at a briefing, hailed his receipt of his instrument of office 22 months after his approval as monarch.
He attributed the delay to a court case filed by rival royal families in August 2020, which was dismissed this month.
According to him, his ascension to the throne on August 20, 2020, had ushered in a new dawn in infrastructural development and social transformation.
He urged the lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Prince Rotimi Agunsoye, to bring an ICT centre to the community.
He wrote to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to build a secondary school in the town.
The monarch said a jetty had commenced operation at Agboyi 3, with the Federal Government poised to build a town hall in the town.
He appealed to the people to join hands with him to propel the community to an enviable developmental level.
“In Agboyi we should love one another and we should be united.
“Before I became king, there were a lot of problems but things have changed and everybody has come together. I stand for cooperation, peace and unity. “Owoyele is my father’s family. That’s where I came from. This is my mother’s place.
“My priority is to unite the Owoyele family with other families in Agboyi Kingdom. And I have done that as 95 per cent is in support of my victory.”
