The appointment of Finidi George and Eddy Dombraye as coaches of NPFL sides has been hailed by former Super Eagles stars.
George was appointed as coach of two-time CAF Champions League champion Enyimba while Dombraye will handle Lobi Stars of Makurdi with Festus Odini describing this as a good development for Nigeria football.
Odini said: “Enyimba and Lobi Stars have gotten good coaches who know the game well. They were in the system for a while before they left for Europe to play football. I am sure George and Dombraye can handle being coaches of Enyimba and Lobi stars respectively because they know how football is being played and organized in Nigeria.”

He, however, charged the coaches to adapt to the system and play along with the clubs while working hard to win matches in the Nigerian premier league.
He tasked the management of Enyimba and Lobi Stars to support the coaches in their quest to change the fortune of the teams.
For Femi Opabunmi, he is optimistic that the two coaches would weather the storm in the NPFL. “I know Finidi is a disciplined man that doesn’t talk too much, he believes in action and I know Finidi is going to be successful in Enyimba,” Opabunmi enthused.
Like Dombraye, he charged the management of the teams to support the coaches to do well in the NPFL.
