A Delta State APC group under New Delta Coalition has rallied support for Chief Francis Obigbo as acting chair.
A statement ssigned by Godwin Anaughe, while reacting to the purported APC chairman imposed by some, said, “New Delta Coalition declares support for Chief Francis Obigbo as acting chair of Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC).”
He said: “As deputy chair, Obigbo is constitutionally recognised to assume the role of acting chair in the absence of the substantive chairman, Omeni Sobotie. This is in accordance with Article 14.2 (iii) of APC constitution

“Article 12.8 explicitly states that the deputy chairman holds the second position in the hierarchy, while vice chairmen occupy the fifth position.”
“The appointment of Chief Paulinus Akpeki as acting chair is a disregard for APC’s constitution and sets a dangerous precedent that must not stand’’, he said.
