Ogbe, Shittu, Udoma, Kachikwu, others dropped

CONTRARY to expectations that 60 per cent of those who served as Federal Executive Council (FEC) members in the first tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari would be reappointed, only 14 of them have been re-nominated for consideration.

The 14 were listed among those whose names were forwarded yesterday by the President to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

Those whose names were missing on the nominees’ list are:  Okechukwu Enelamah  (Abia) Industry, Trade & Investment);  Udoma Udo Udoma (Akwa Ibom) Budget & National Planning); Heineken Lokpobiri (Bayelsa) Minister of Trade for Agriculture); Audu Ogbe (Benue) Agriculture); Usani Uguru Usani (Cross River) Niger Delta; Dr. Ibe Kachikwu (Delta) Minister of State for Petroleum Resources); Anthony Anwuka (Imo) Minister of State for Education) and Stephen Ocheni (Kogi) Minister of State for Labour & Employment).

Others are: Gen. Abdulrahaman Dambazau (Kano) Internal Affairs); Abubakar Bawa Bwari (Niger State) Minister of State for Solid Minerals Development); Prof. Cladius Omoleye Daramola (Ondo) Minister of State for Education); Prof. Isaac Adewole (Osun State) Health; Adebayo Shittu (Oyo) Communications; Solomon Dalung  (Plateau) Sports & Youths Development; Aisha Abubakar (Sokoto) Minister of State for Industry, Trade & Investment) and Brig.-Gen. Mansur  Dan Ali (Zamfara) Defence.
