A stakeholder in education in Ogun State, Mr. Adeniyi Adebobola, has praised the management of the Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu, and the governor of the state, Prince Adedapo Abiodun, for developing the institution to occupy an enviable position in the country.
He said the college had witnessed development in the areas of academics, infrastructure, welfare and staff motivation, among others, through the policies put in place by the governor.
Adebobola, who was speaking on the Education Day in Ijebu-Ode, said: “TASCE achieved a major academic feat when the institution got all its 25 academic programmes accredited less than one year of the injection of firm policies.

“The construction of the School of Science complex with the state-of-art equipment, the construction of 250-seater auditorium, the college e-library, the internet connectivity for the entire college through the Nigerian Communication Commission have further positioned the school to meet up with emerging human challenges. All these have given the students the ample opportunity for a healthy education which combines theory and practice in line with what obtains in other climes.”
He further said: “Amidst the daunting challenges confronting colleges of education in Nigeria, TASCE has remained unwavering in its resolve and this has helped in the movement of the college’s administrative apparatus to its permanent site, just as it has also established the college publishing outfit, remodelling the College Gate House, establishment of the Centre for Degree Programme, Centre for Science and Technology Innovation, Centre for International linkages and Capacity Development, Centre for Social Science Research and Leadership in Education, the Directorate of College Advancement, provision of staff offices and equipment, procurement of 18- seater Toyota bus for the Directorate of Quality Assurance.”
