The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, has advised the Federal Government to engage competent hands to manage the economy in order to save the citizens from the hardship that the fall in crude oil price could stimulate.
The OYC in a statement signed by the President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro
and the Secretary General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, said: “We had studied diligently the remarks of the Group Managing Director Of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),Mele Kyari, on the recent crash of crude Oil prices to less than 30 dollars per barrel and his warning that Nigerians should prepare for tough times.
OYC agrees with Kyari and unequivocally state that Nigerians will experience hunger and hardship in the face of obvious collapse of the economy that depends solely on crude oil.

“OYC seeks for the engagement of competent hands to help President Muhammadu Buhari to manage the economy. Those in the economic team of Mr President have run short of ideas and will ground the economy.
The appointment of Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala by South African government, has demonstrated the country’s courage and determination to succeed in the face of economic adversity.
We call for total overhaul of the entire economic team of Mr President.
This is a wakeup call to bring in a good economic team to develop non-oil sectors and ensure that we avoid going back to recession.
“The South East governors should prepare to channel their resources to encourage the youths to engage in agriculture in order to prepare for the tough times ahead.”
