Ondo Speaker pledges robust ninth assembly

The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Bamidele Oleyelogun, yesterday assured people of the readiness of the ninth assembly to surpass the laudable achievements of the last assembly for optimum development.

According to him, the ninth assembly will focus more on legislations that will enhance industrial development of the state and improve its economic well-being.

Speaking at a forum yesterday in Akure, the state capital, Oleyelogun expressed the readiness of the current assembly to collaborate with the executive and other arms of government to further bring more meaningful development to the state.

This is to enable the people enjoy more dividends of good governance under the present administration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Oleyelogun lauded the leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, including Akeredolu, his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, the state chairman, Ade Adetimehin, and others for their support and the confidence bestowed on him.

The lawmaker representing Ifedore constituency also appreciated his colleagues in the assembly for re-electing him as the speaker.

Oleyelogun promised to continue to be transparent and offer quality leadership and run an open-door policy that will give every member a sense of belonging.

“Appointing me again as the speaker of the 9th Assembly is very uncommon and I shall not misuse the opportunity. I also appreciate the rare love and encouragement I received from everybody in the state; I cherish this so much.”

He hailed members of the last assembly for their excellent performance which led to the passage of no fewer than 45 bills into laws for the development of the state.
