A faith-based organisation, Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) has announced its plans to begin an uninterrupted 90-day Scripture challenge across all churches in Lagos from today, August 1.
Tagged: The Lagos 90 Days Scripture Challenge, FCBH partners with the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Nigeria Evangelical Missions Association (NEMA) and Lagos church leaders to unanimously challenge their members to engage with pure Scripture through audio and visual means.
Addressing the press in Lagos, the Lagos CAN Chairman, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, who heads the initiative advisory board, noted the need to increase reading and knowledge of the Scripture informed the partnership for the programme.
Adegbite explained that the challenge is necessary in “a season of getting closer to God through the Bible.”He noted the Bible contains answers to all questions that may occupy the mind of anyone in the world.

He said: “The only solution to our problem is Jesus Christ which can be discovered in the Scripture.”To ensure that we spread the Word of God among our people; in the marketplaces, in our streets, in the evening, even to people who cannot read, we have adopted audio and visual versions that will provide an enabling environment for everyone to listen to the scripture for more explanation and easy comprehension.
Bishop Adegbite encouraged “Christians and non-Christians to participate for a Nigeria free of oppression, intimidation and killing.”
To buttress Bishop Adegbite’s points, FCBH National Coordinator, Mr Nicholas Okereke urged Lagosians to participate, revealing the audio and video formats will be available in major languages spoken in Lagos, notably, English, Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.
Okereke disclosed the challenge is in three phases, of which for the first 30 days, the participants will listen to the daily audio Scripture portions and discuss in dedicated WhatsApp groups.
Outling the activities, Okereke said: “A free and content-rich app: The Lagos Bible App has been created for the first 30 days of The Lagos 90 Days Scripture Challenge.
“All churches that seriously engage with Scripture every day for the first 30 days will receive a free audio Bible device, a Proclaimer, which will allow them to physically meet in groups to listen to and discuss scripture every day for 30 days.
“In the 3rd phase from October 1st, all churches that are thoroughly committed to daily listening and discussing of the audio Scriptures in groups in phase two, will receive free video devices for their members to engage with the Word-for-word video Scriptures for 30 straight days.”
All churches that commit fully will, according to Okereke, experience renewed spiritual hunger, increased spiritual maturity, greater member commitment, spontaneous evangelism and unprecedented church growth.
He made a strong appeal to every Church in Lagos as well as to every single Lagosian to participate actively.
