Vice-President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will today meet with members of the Presidential Committee on Apapa Port gridlock task force.
The meeting, slated to begin at 4 p.m at the Vice-President’s Office at the State House, Abuja, is meant to review the activities of the team in the past two weeks and how the clearing exercise had gone.
The Vice Chairman of the team, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, had indicated that he would be briefing the Vice-President on activities of the team on Monday.
A memorandum by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Vice-President, Mr Ade Ipaye, said the meeting would be chaired by Prof Osinbajo.
The Vice-President had invited Opeifa to forward the names of members who would attend the meeting to the State House for security clearance.
The briefing, among other things, is expected to bring the Presidency up to speed about the activities of the team in the past 20 days. It will also consider the extension of the deadline of the team in line with the present realities.

Two members of the team, the Chairman of the Amalgamated Truck Owners and Operators, Mr Olaleye Thompson, and the General Coordinator of the Coalition of Maritime Transport Union Associations, Mr Stephen Okafor, had separately requested the Presidency to extend the deadline for the activities of the team.
Expected at the meeting alongside Opeifa are: the Nigerian Shippers Council’s Executive Secretary/CEO, Mr hassan Bello; the Director Consumer Affairs, Mr C. C. Agu; the Director of Regulatory Services, Ifeoma Ezedinma.
Others are: President of the ANALCA, Mr Tony Iju, and President of NAGAFF, Increase Uche.
They are to represent the freight forwarders’ group, while ACM Victor Nwokolo would represent the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
To represent COMTUA are the two leaders, Stephen Okafor and Olaleye Thompson, a member of the BoT; Edo State Police Commissioner Hakeem Odumosu, while Dr Taiwo Olufemi Salaam will represent the Lagos State government.
