THE Osun State Government has discharged ten out of 18 Cote d’Ivoire returnees who recovered from coronavirus.

The Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola disclosed this on Saturday at Government House, Osogbo.

He said the ten discharged patients had tested negative twice.

According to him, “I am happy to inform you today that 10 of the 18 patients have tested negative twice for the virus in line with the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and will soon be released to join their families and live their normal lives.

“The remaining patients are responding to treatment and shall, by the grace of God, soon follow in the steps of their colleagues.

He further that the development underscores the belief that Coronavirus disease is not a death sentence, but is treatable if the patients surrender themselves for treatment on time.

These successful treatments should also encourage persons who are feeling unwell to come out for testing and treatment if found positive. They are proof that we have the right equipment and personnel to handle the Coronavirus pandemic. He added.

It could be recalled that the state discharged one of the index cases and 109 Cote d’Ivoire returnees who tested negative of the virus on April 5.
