The annual National Higher Education Forum (NHEF 2020) for decision makers in academia, industry and government holds 24-25 March at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
Organised by Centre for Higher Education, Innovation and Development (CHEiD), the theme of the conference is “Competiveness, Endowment and Partnerships: A path to excellence and sustainability”.
Over 600 decision makers, innovators and influencers from academia, industry and government in search of sustainable solutions to issues in the knowledge sector will participate in the conference.

A statement by the Project Lead, Odinaka Iloh, said participants will discuss on four major issues affecting the sector, including the expectation from higher institutions, their roles in the evolving social, cultural and economic lives of Nigerians, mechanisms for examining their effectiveness and whether or not Nigeria has a comprehensive economic competitiveness strategy upon which a higher education competitiveness strategy can be built on.
Over 30 speakers are expected at the forum, including Assistant Vice Chancellor, Washington University in St. Louis, USA, Prof Benjamin Ola-Akande; Director General, Budget Office of the Federation Ben Akabueze; Secretary General, Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigeria Universities Prof Yakubu Ochefu and Prof. Enase Okonedo, Dean, Lagos Business School, among others.
