Osun State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, and Sultan of Sokoto/President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, at the weekend extolled the qualities of the late Deputy President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sakariyahu Olayiwola Babalola.
Oyetola, Sultan and the others spoke at a Fidau for the late Babalola at the Havilah Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The governors said the late Babalola, who was also the President-General of the Muslim Ummah of Southwest Nigeria (MUSWEN), stood by his government.

He also noted that the late Babalola lived a good life worthy of emulating, urging his children to maintain the legacy left behind by their father.
Governor Oyetola said he was surprised not to see Babalola at the Sultan Abubakar’s daughter’s nikah wedding in Sokoto.
He prayed to Allah to grant the late Babalola paradise.
Sultan Abubakar, who was represented by Prof Ishaq Oloyede, said Babalola’s life was full of lessons.
The late Babalola’s son, Dr. Rilwan Lanre Babalola, said he was happy with the love and affections the dignitaries showed his late father.
