Oyetola urges traders to use face masks

Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Monday urged traders at Igbona market in Osogbo to use face mask, to reduce community transmission of Coronavirus.

The governor, addressing traders at the market, said market is a veritable source of community transmission of the dreaded disease.

He advised them to be hygienic and use face masks, to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Oyetola said: “I urge traders and their customers to maintain personal hygiene, use their nose covers and hand sanitisers and avoid direct contact with anybody. Please, avoid crowding in public buses while taking goods to and from markets.”

He noted that he had warned mini-bus (korope) operators not to carry more than two passengers in a row of seat.

The governor hailed the traders for adhering to the stay-at-home order, which lasted for more than four weeks.

The traders assured the governor that they would abide by the instructions relating to COVID-19 in their own interest and for the safety of all.
