Oyo Rep member facilitates organic farming training for 100 constituents

The House of Representatives member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency, Honourable Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has facilitated an Organic farming training and empowerment programme for constituent members.

The two-day training which was held in Ibadan, in collaboration with Nicert Expert Counselling, had about hundred constituent members in attendance. They were enlightened on how to harness the benefits of organic farming with the latest Bio-resources method from the Resources Development Center.

Similarly, the participants got exposed to the mechanized way and practices which will help them in doubling their gains and meeting up with the international market standards. Also, at the end of the training, the participants were given cash and raw materials to start up their own farming businesses.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Engr Badmos Adebare Solid, Head/Centre Director, National Biotechnology Development Agency lamented about the usage of chemicals and herbicides by farmers, which is against the regulation of the international market.

Hon. Tolulope Sadipe who was ably represented by Engr. Kunle, in her remarks, reiterated her commitment to empowering and serving her constituent members. She said, “You will all notice that all we have been doing for the past few weeks now is empowerment. Alleviating our people out of poverty is key to having a peaceful society.”

“Hundred participants who are members of my constituency have been empowered again on mechanized farming. Participants received money to invest in their farming businesses along with agricultural inputs and qualified them for additional investment funding through grants worth millions of naira.” She added
