PDP Chieftain, Bode George honored with leadership award

The Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George on Tuesday was awarded by the Nigerian Television Authority, Lagos for his immense contributions to Democracy and National development.

The Nigerian Television Authority, Tejuoso, Lagos led its crew to present the leadership award to Bode George at his residence in Ikoyi, Lagos. Also in attendance were some members of Peoples Democratic Party who were present to felicitate with him.

While presenting the award, Mrs. Funmi Adeniran who coordinates a programme called “Loyin ladun”, said Bode George was honored because of his immense contributions to the development of the nation both in time past and present playing the role of a good leader and role model to many.

Significantly, part of Bode George’s achievement which prompted the award as indicated in his citation was due to his immense contributions during his time as the Governor of Ondo State at 42 years of age.

Chief Bode George in his remarks, described the award as one that inspires his determination. He expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to the media organization for recognizing his humble contribution to the growth and the enhancement of participatory democracy in the nation.

He stressed that the award would galvanize him to do more. He said, “this award has come at a time of burdensome perplexity and frustration. But we remain steadfast and strong, sworn to strengthen our democracy”.
