The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of sabotaging government’s efforts at containing the Coronavirus pandemic.
A statement by the Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji, expressed sadness that at a time the government was doing all it could to contain the pandemic, the best the APC could do ‘is to play politics with human lives by sabotaging government’s efforts at preventing the disease from spreading’.
The PDP noted that if the APC was a responsible party, it would not have flouted standard procedure set by the government to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The party particularly referenced a party attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila; Oyo State APC Chairman Akin Oke and others, and wondered how such ‘irresponsible party could point fingers at Makinde’.
The statement reads: “The series of traps allegedly set for this administration by leaders of Oyo State APC are indirectly against the people, who they are desperate to govern at all cost. The devilish actions of the Oyo State APC to distract the government from making the state free of Coronavirus will continually be defeated. Any reasonable political party should know that one can only govern the living.
“The Governor Seyi Makinde-led government will continue to win by prioritising the people’s interest.”
