Master of Meditation urges Nigerians to pursue peace at Culture Festival

GLobal peace Ambassador and Founder of Art of Living Foundation Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has stressed the need for Nigerians to live peacefully and embrace unity.

Shankar, who is a master of mediation, spoke at the Culture Festival 2022 in Lagos.

The festival, with theme: Vibrant Africa: The Rising Rhythm, was meant to build compassionate and harmonious society by bringing people together with song, dance, meditation, and dialogue.

It opened with inspiring performances from local and international artists, including Drum Ensemble, Syrian Dancers, National Troupe, followed by deep meditation led by Shankar.

Shankar, while fielding questions, stressed love and meditation as key to achieving societal harmony and peace in oneself.

“I tell you, deep inside you is a fountain of bliss, a fountain of joy. Deep inside your centre core is truth, light, and love, there is no guilt, and there is no fear. Psychologists have never looked deep enough,” he said on the power of meditation…“

A guest at the event, former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo urged Nigerians to embrace love and community.

Other dignitaries included Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; Founder of Centre for Values in Leadership Prof. Pat Utomi; and Director of Art of Living Nigeria Akshay Jain.

Kaffy, Lovn, Timi Dakolo, Naomi Mac, Esther Benyeogo, Dare Art Alade, Waje and Brymo delivered performances.

The event featured over 3,500 attendees who shared and explored their rich cultural diversity while honouring the underlying spirit that connects us all as one global family. The Culture Festival 2022 served as the crescendo of a packed three-day event specially designed to cater to various sectors of society. The Culture Festival 2022 was hosted by Art of Living Nigeria.
