The Plateau State Government has charged residents of the state to observe the resuscitated monthly environmental sanitation exercise today, Saturday, Aug. 29.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong gave the order in a statement issued on Friday by Mr. Dan Manjang, the state information and communication commissioner.
“Our governor has directed the immediate resuscitation of the monthly environmental sanitation. By this directive, the exercise is to resume with effect from this Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020.
“Consequently, all citizens are hereby enjoined to come out and clean their surroundings,” he stated.
The governor said that residents must ensure that their interiors and surroundings be cleared especially grasses and drainages around their homes and business premises.
Lalong explained that the government took the action in the best interest of the health and safety of its citizens.
According to him, it was also in realisation of the unacceptable sanitary conditions of some areas in the state which pose serious danger to the wellbeing of residents.
