The police in Ogun State have arrested four men for allegedly shooting a herdsman at Odeda at the weekend.
Their arrest followed a report by one Abubakar Idris that four men attacked his brother and himself while were moving their cows to Ijebu Ode on December 4.
Among the suspects arrested were Ogunseye Funso, 47 and Ominyin Benj.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Olugbo Village in front of Iporo Fadipe Community High School.
Police spokesman DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said the complainant reported that the attackers used a Dane gun to shoot his at the back, adding that his right leg was targeted.

“On the strength of the report, the DPO Odeda Division CSP Williams Ajayi mobilised his men to the scene where the victim was met in the pool of his blood. He was quickly rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, while effort was intensified to get the suspects arrested.
“The efforts of the detectives yielded positive result on December 6 when the four suspects were rounded up at their hideout on a tip off. The Dane gun was also recovered from them.
“They have all made confessional statements to the police. The victim is also responding to treatment in the hospital.
“The Commissioner of Police Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution.”
