Decomposed remains of late Capt. Godfrey Zwallamark (rtd), who was abducted, killed and buried by his kidnappers in Rivers State have been exhumed by the police.
The retired army officer was kidnapped on October 18 around 10 pm by three armed men on a motorbike and whisked away to a forest in Igbo Etche.
But the operatives of the police led by Ahmadu Adamu, acting on intelligence, arrested three suspects, who led the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday to the shallow grave where they buried the victim’s remains.
Suspects arrested in connection with the crime are Frank Ishie, 39, who hails from Kwale Ndokwa East, Delta State but resides in Igbo Etche; Iwuji Reginald, 38, from Ngugu Community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State and Gomba Okparaji, 34, from Agbonchia in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Commissioner of Police said after abducting the victim, the kidnappers established contact with the victim’s family and demanded N200m ransom.

He said: “The victim’s phone which was used for negotiation was recovered from them, including two ATM cards belonging to the deceased. Investigation is still ongoing. Today we are here to exhume the remains of the victim for Autopsy and possible burial.
“It could be noted that, though the victim is dead but his killers will face the law and justice will be brought to bear in circumstance.
“What is important is that they have been arrested and will be dealt with according to law as it would serve as deterrent to others. Criminals have short lifespan as their days are always numbered”.
