Police kill 10 bandits in Niger

Police have reportedly killed over 10 bandits in Kundu, a community in Rafi local council of Niger State.

The criminals were killed at the weekend during an attack, The Nation gathered.

Two policemen were also killed in the shootout.

Residents said the bandits invaded the community but met policemen ready to stop them.

It was learnt that the bandits shot at the policemen who responded in kind.

Governor Abubakar Bello on Sunday visited the community to commiserate with the policemen and commend their brave response.

The governor assured the security forces of his government’s support in helping them keep the state safe.

Bello also said the government has made arrangements to procure some equipment in combating insecurity.
