Men of the Edo State Police Command, on Monday, killed two suspected armed robbers at Ekehuan, Egor Local Government Area of the state.
The police had engaged the robbers in a shootout after they responded to a distress call during a robbery operation near Asoro hill.
Other members of the robbery gang were said to have escaped.
Commissioner of Police, Danmallam Abubakar, who confirmed the report, said the police operatives responded to a distress call.
“Yes two armed robbers were killed and we recovered their guns and ammunition.

“There was distress call and the police responded and met them in the act.
“So when they saw the police, they started firing at them and the police responded and they were “gun down”, he said.
He appealed to the members of the public to continue to collaborate with the police by way of volunteering information that could lead to the arrest of criminals in order to rid the state of crime and criminality.
