Police to Sokoto residents: don’t keep huge money at home

Sokoto Police Command has cautioned residents against keeping large amount of money at home to avoid attracting criminals ahead of the forthcoming Yuletide period.

It however said it has renewed its operational strategy with a fortified security detachment to nip crimes in the bud within the state.

Spokesman of the Command, ASP Muhammad Sadiq, gave out the advice on in a statement.

According to him: “People should for whatever personal reason avoid keeping huge sums of money in their residences or on themselves.

“The measure is to effectively strengthen the frantic efforts being routinely made by the command at strategically improving its constitutional role of ensuring the safety of lives and property of the residents.”

Sadiq stressed commitment of the Command under Ibrahim Ka’oje’s stewardship to protecting the public and property, thus , calling on the good people of the state to desist from the habit.
