LAGOS State Head of Service Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has said public service remains the most viable instrument for the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes of the government.
He congratulated public servants on the occasion of the 2020 International Public Service Day, in recognition of the value of service to humanity and in celebration of the role and contributions of public servants to the growth and development of Lagos.
Muri-Okunola said the Public Service Day is celebrated all over the world every June 23, adding that it had been celebrated in Lagos State since 2001.
He said the theme of this year’s celebration: ‘Action Today, Impact Tomorrow: Innovating & Transforming Public Services and Institutions to Realise the Sustainable Development Goals’, “is apt at this moment when we all experience the global pandemic.”
