The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Scandinavia and Secretary of APC Diaspora Chairmen Forum, Ayoola Lawal has called on Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari to reflect on his legacy.
In a statement released and made available to The Nation, commended Buhari’s resolute fight against corruption.
While commenting on the recent revelations of the alleged fraud and mismanagement of funds in NDDC and EFFC, he said, “this might not be startling to some of us but it is extremely shameful that we can be so greedy and selfish that we degraded ourselves.”
He said, “With abstruse fraud revelations in different sectors of government and society, undeniably, any outcome from the future forensic audit of NNPC, TET-FUND, Ministry of Power and others might be inordinately to comprehend for any sane society if transparently conducted.”

While he recalled one of the mantras upon which the APC rode to power, which is the fight against corruption, Ayoola urged Nigerians to stand with the Buhari’s administration.
“Mr President said “if we do not kill corruption, corruption will kill us” Nobody can deny the fact that ripple effects of corruption already killed hundreds of thousands and still killing Nigerians daily and it will eventually destroy every fibre of our Nation if Nigerian masses do not resolve to stand with Mr President Buhari against this monster, which its implications are self-evident in the future of the country growing population.”
He noted that if corruption is not decisively-checked, adequately fought and perpetrators not properly sentenced, the hope of a better future for the masses in Nigeria is very slim because it will spur rascality.
He however urged Buhari to take a deeper reflection on what he wants to be his legacy to be, especially in the fight against corruption and therefore, intensifying timely action against corruption.
