Residents flee as bandits ransack Allawa community

Bandits have ransacked Allawa community in Shiroro local government area of Niger, causing residents to flee.

It was learnt the bandits, numbering over 100, invaded the community on Sunday around 2 am without their usual shooting and took everyone unawares.

The bandits, according to a source, rustled the entire cattle, sheep and goats in the community along with foodstuff and other valuables of the residents.

The source said no one was killed as the residents fled to the bush when the bandits arrived.

It was learnt the Allawa community has been deserted as residents fled to neighbouring Pandogari town where they are taking refuge in primary school and other open spaces without food and water.
