The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Anambra State, Rt. Rev. Samuel Ezeofor, has advised governorship aspirants for the November 6 election to respect the zoning arrangements in the interest of equity, justice and fair play.
He spoke while presenting his charge at the first session of the sixth synod of the diocese, at St. John the Divine Church, Oko in Orumba North Local Government.
The Prelate, who supported the zoning of the governorship seat to the South Senatorial District, urged aspirants, who were not from the district, to have a rethink, to ensure that peace remained in the state after the election.
He said: “The zoning of the governorship seat to the Anambra South Senatorial District should be supported. Governorship aspirants, who are not from the South, should have a rethink, in the interest of equity, justice and fair play.”

Ezeofor lamented the increasing uncertainties in parts of the country, caused by insecurity.
He called for efforts to check the ugly trend.
The cleric canvased for restructuring of the country, to save the people from agony and hardship.
“The Federal Government should map out measures that will guarantee the safety of Nigerians wherever they live. It should also respect the sanctity of institutions in making appointments, especially the judiciary, to restore people’s confidence as the last hope of the common man,” he said.
Hailing Governor Willie Obiano for fulfilling his promise of completing the passenger and cargo airport without borrowing, Ezeofor hoped that the project would improve the state’s revenue profile, in addition to offering jobs to youths.
